Metro to host career and education fair Friday, October 7

The Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority (Metro) will host a career and education fair on Friday, October 7, from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m, at the Festival Center, 1640 Columbia Road, N.W., at Mozart Place between 16th and 18th Streets.

The career and education fair is designed for individuals seeking employment with the region’s transit agency. Applicants attending the job fair will be able to apply for a variety of jobs, including bus operators, bus and rail mechanics, rail car cleaners, laborers, janitors, cleaner/shifters, and positions with the Metro Transit Police Department.

"This is a great chance to see how Metro opens doors everyday with employment opportunities," noted Metro Board Member Jim Graham. "Metro is a great place to apply your skills and trade in meaningful employment."

People attending the career and education fair can ride Metrorail to the Columbia Heights Metrorail station on the Green Line, the Woodley Park-Zoo/Adams Morgan Metrorail station on the Red Line, or use Metrobus routes H2, H4, L2, S2, S4, 42, 52, 54, 90, and 92.
