White Flint Metrorail Station Parking Garage Opens Saturday, October 8

A new parking structure at the White Flint Metrorail station on the Red Line will open Saturday, October 8.

The White Flint parking structure features 1,270 spaces on six-levels of parking. The construction of this parking facility does not add any new spaces, but will replace surface parking on the north side of Marinelli Road near the existing kiss-and-ride parking lot.

Funding for the construction of the $17.4 million parking structure came from proceeds from the land sale of White Flint West and Grosvenor south sites and fiscal year 2005 TIIF revenues.

Parking at Metro-operated parking lots is free on weekends and holidays. The weekday rate at the White Flint facility is $4 if the vehicle owner takes a Metrorail trip using the same SmarTrip card to pay for the rail trip and parking. For non-Metrorail riders, the daily parking fee is $7.75.
