Metro Announces Weekend Rail Service Changes

This weekend, Metro will conduct maintenance work on the Orange, and Red Lines. Customers traveling on these rail lines should plan accordingly and add extra time into their schedules. The weekend service changes are:

Orange Line

On Saturday, October 22, and Sunday, October 23, from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m., all Orange Line trains will share one track between West Falls Church-VT/UVA and East Falls Church while Metro personnel conduct routine track maintenance. Passengers should add five to 10 minutes of additional travel time on the Orange Line.

Red Line

On Sunday, October 23, from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m, all Red Line trains will share one track between Rhode Island Avenue-Brentwood and Brookland-CUA, while Metro personnel perform routine track maintenance. Passengers should add five to 10 minutes of additional travel time on the Red Line.

Green Line

On Saturday, October 22, and Sunday, October 23, from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., all Green Line trains will share one track between Greenbelt and Fort Totten, while Metro performs train tests. Passengers should add five to 10 minutes of additional travel time on the Green Line. In addition, on Saturday, October 22, and Sunday, October 23, from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m., all Green Line trains will share one track between Branch Avenue and Naylor Road while Metro personnel perform a bridge structure inspection. Passengers should add five to 10 minutes of additional travel time on this portion of the Green Line.
