Metrobus service changes in the District of Columbia begin December 18

Several service changes on Metrobus will be implemented on seven lines in the District of Columbia beginning December 18. The changes are in response to customer requests and will improve service reliability and improve transfer connections between buses and trains.

94 Stanton Road Line

The bus that leaves 19th and Savannah streets, SE, on Sundays at 7:45 a.m. will be changed to leave from Anacostia station at 7:36 a.m. This bus will pass 19th and Savannah streets, SE, at 7:45 a.m.

The bus that leaves Anacostia station on Sunday nights at 12:27 a.m. and ends at 19th and Savannah streets, SE, will continue back to Anacostia station, arriving at 12:45 a.m.

A4 Anacostia-Fort Drum Line

The schedule will change for all buses running after 6 p.m. on weekdays, Saturdays and Sundays. Bus times will change by up to seven minutes to allow additional time to serve D. C. Village. Service was extended to D.C. Village in October 2005.

D8 Hospital Center Line

Two additional northbound buses will run on weekdays between 8:30 and 10 a.m. and other bus times will be changed to relieve overcrowding. Weekday northbound buses will leave Union Station at 8:35, 8:45, 8:55, 9:07, 9:19, 9:31 and 9:43 a.m.

The southbound bus that leaves VA Medical Center on weekdays at 6:31 p.m. will be discontinued. Buses that leave the center on weekdays at 6 and 6:16 p.m. will be changed to leave at 6:03 and 6:21 p.m.

M6 Fairfax Village Line

The bus that leaves Alabama and Pennsylvania avenues, SE, on Sundays at 7:38 a.m. will be changed to leave from Potomac Ave station at 7:29 a.m. This bus will pass Alabama and Pennsylvania avenues SE at 7:36 a.m. The bus that leaves the station on Sunday nights at 12:26 a.m. and ends at 38th Street and Pennsylvania Avenue, SE, will continue back to Potomac Ave station and arrive at 12:48 a.m.

N22 Navy Yard Shuttle Line

The bus that leaves Union Station on weekdays at 2:56 p.m. will be discontinued due to low ridership.

S2, S4 Sixteenth Street Line

Southbound buses that pass 16th and U streets, NW, weekdays at 7:43, 7:57, 8:26, 8:34, 8:40, 9:04 and 9:52 a.m. will end at McPherson Square (14th and I streets, NW) instead of Federal Triangle. Buses that pass 16th and U streets, NW, weekdays at 7:15, 7:52, 8:23, 8:32 and 9 a.m. will be extended from McPherson Square to Federal Triangle. Two articulated buses will be added to this line on weekday mornings to alleviate overcrowding.

W4 Deanwood-Alabama Avenue Line

On Saturdays, the bus that leaves Malcolm X and Martin Luther King Jr. avenues, SE, at 6:23 a.m. will be changed to leave from Anacostia station at 6:18 a.m. and pass Malcolm X and Martin Luther King Jr. avenues at 6:23 a.m. Southbound buses that leave Deanwood station on Saturday nights at 12:54, 1:27, and 2 a.m. and end at Malcolm X and Martin Luther King Jr. avenues, SE, will continue to Anacostia station, arriving at 1:38, 2:11 and 2:44 a.m.

On Sundays, northbound buses that leave Malcolm X and Martin Luther King Jr. avenues, SE, at 6:26 and 6:58 a.m. will be changed to begin at Anacostia station at 6:24 and 6:54 a.m., and pass Malcolm X and Martin Luther King Jr. avenues at 6:29 and 6:59 a.m.

The northbound bus that leaves Anacostia station on Sundays at 7:26 a.m. will be changed to leave the station at 7:24 a.m. Buses that leave Deanwood station on Sunday nights at 11:12 and 11:42 p.m., and 12:20 a.m., and end at Malcolm X and Martin Luther King Jr. avenues, SE, will continue to Anacostia station, arriving at 11:52 p.m., 12:22 and 1 a.m.
