Metro to hold public hearing on project proposals

The Washington Metropolitan Transit Authority will hold a public hearing on its proposed Program of Projects and proposed applications for Federal Transit Administration Federal Mass Transportation Operating and Capital Assistance Grants.

The public hearing will be held on December 20, in the Board Room at Metro’s headquarters building, <" xml:namespace prefix = st1 ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:smarttags" />600 Fifth Street, NW, Washington, D.C. The site is accessible to individuals with disabilities. The public hearing begins at 2 p.m.

 

Proposed projects include an infrastructure renewal program, Metro rail car and facilities program, Metrobus vehicle and facilities program, debt service, safety and security programs, and project development.

 

Comments will be accepted verbally and in writing at the public hearing or via e-mail. All organizations or individuals who desire to be heard with respect to the proposed projects can present their views. To establish a witness list, individuals and representatives of organizations who wish to be heard at the public hearing are requested to furnish their name, address, telephone number and organization affiliation, if any, to: Harold Bartlett, Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority, 600 Fifth Street, NW, Washington, DC 20001 or by e-mail at public-hearing-testimony@wmata.com. Please submit only one speaker’s name per letter and refer to Hearing No. 519 and/or Docket B05-4 in the heading.
