Metro Announces Weekend Service Changes

Metrorail passengers can expect minor delays on the Red, Orange and Green lines this weekend due to weekend track maintenance. Passengers traveling on these rail lines should plan accordingly and add at 10 to 15 minutes to their schedules. The weekend service changes are:

Red Line

Starting Friday, February 17, at 10 p.m., and continuing until Tuesday, February 21 at 4 a.m., Red Line trains will share one track between the Judiciary Square and Rhode Island Avenue-Brentwood Metrorail stations. Passengers traveling on this portion of the Red Line should add 10 to 15 minutes of travel time to their trip.

Orange Line

On Saturday, February 18, Sunday, February 19, and Monday, February 20, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., Orange Line trains will share one track between the New Carrollton and Cheverly Metrorail stations. Passengers traveling on this portion of the Orange Line should add 10 minutes of travel time to their trip.

Green Line

On Saturday, February 18, and Sunday, February 19, from opening (7 a.m.) to 7 p.m., all Green Line trains will share one track between the Greenbelt and Fort Totten stations, while Metro tests rail cars. Passengers traveling on this portion of the Green Line should add five to 10 minutes of travel time to their trip.
