Metro weekend work to impact service

Weekend track maintenance on the Red Line and rail car testing on the Green Line will impact rail service on those lines this weekend.

 Red Line Track Maintenance

Starting Friday, April 21, at 10 p.m., and concluding Sunday, April 23, at midnight (closing) Red Line trains will share one track between Twinbrook and Grosvenor-Strathmore due to switch replacement work between the White Flint and Grosvenor-Strathmore Metrorail stations. Passengers traveling on this portion of the Red Line should add 10 to 15 minutes of travel time for their trip.

 Green Line Rail Car Tests

On Saturday, April 22, from opening (7 a.m.) to 3 p.m., Green Line trains will share one track between the Greenbelt and College Park Metrorail stations while Metro tests rail cars. Passengers traveling along this portion of the Green Line should add up to 10 minutes of travel time for their trip.
