Washington Nationals and Metro team up for SmarTrip giveaways

Every Tuesday home game is a Metro SmarTrip day

A season-long joint promotion between the Washington Nationals and Metro will give Nationals fans chances to win $30 in SmarTrip® value at every Tuesday game played at RFK Stadium.

Fans who wave their SmarTrip® cards in the air at designated times during the Tuesday home games are eligible to win. A camera will scan the crowd looking for one lucky person whose image will appear on the large video display screen inside the stadium. Three winners will be selected at each game during the seventh, eighth and ninth innings.

The winning fans will receive award forms to complete and send to Metro. After Metro processes the award, the individuals can download the $30 value directly to their SmarTrip® cards at any Metro farecard machine.
The Nationals and Metro designed the joint promotion to encourage baseball fans to take Metrorail and Metrobus to RFK Stadium. Fans can take the Blue or Orange lines to the Stadium-Armory Metrorail station or Metrobus routes D6, 96, 97 or B2 to get to the stadium.

SmarTrip® cards can be used on both Metrorail and Metrobus, and the cards are the only method of payment accepted in Metro-operated parking facilities. Users can load up to $300 in value on their cards and should register their SmarTrip® cards to protect the value. If a registered SmarTrip® card is lost, the customer won’t lose the value on the card. For a $5 fee to replace the card itself, Metro will issue a new SmarTrip® card with the value on the card at the time the card was reported lost.

The promotion applies to all Tuesday home games except July 4.
