Celebrate 30 years of opening doors with Metro’s prize team

Monthly giveaways continue Friday at Farragut North Metrorail station

Metrorail’s 30th anniversary prize team will greet commuters at the Red Line’s Farragut North Metrorail station (Connecticut Avenue and L Street entrance) Friday, May 26, from 11 a.m. to noon. Prize team members will randomly select riders, surprising them with free Metrorail 30th anniversary commemorative items such as key chains, notepads, lapel pins, squeeze train toys and baseball caps.

The prize team is part of Metrorail’s celebration of 30 years of opening doors. Metrorail began service in March 1976.

As part of the 30th anniversary celebration, the prize team will visit one station each month through March 2007. They will reach riders on all five rail lines in the District of Columbia, Maryland and Virginia.
