Metro Weekend Work to Impact Service

Weekend track maintenance on the Red and Orange lines are some of the changes scheduled for this weekend.

Red Line Track Maintenance

Starting Friday, May 26 at 10 p.m., and concluding Saturday, May 27 (early Sunday morning at 3 a.m.), Red Line trains will share one track between the Twinbrook and Grosvenor-Strathmore Metrorail stations due to switch replacement maintenance outside the Grosvenor-Strathmore Metrorail station. Passengers traveling on this portion of the Red Line should add 20 minutes of travel time for their trip. [Please note that Red Line trains typically operate every 12 to 15 minutes between these locations on Saturday and Sunday.]

On Sunday, May 28, from, from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m., Red Line trains will share one track between the Judiciary Square and Rhode Island Avenue-Brentwood Metrorail stations due to track maintenance. Passengers traveling on this portion of the Red Line should 10 minutes of travel time for their trip. [Please note that Red Line trains typically operate every 7 to 8 minutes between these locations on Sunday.]

Orange Line Track Maintenance

On Saturday, May 27, and Sunday May 28, from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., Orange Line trains will share one track between the Ballston-MU and East Falls Church-VT/UVA Metrorail stations due to track maintenance. Passengers traveling on this portion of the Orange Line should add 10 minutes of travel time for their trip. [Please note that Orange Line trains operate every 12-15 minutes between these locations on Saturday and Sunday.]
