Body found at Rockville Metrorail station

The body of an Hispanic male was discovered early this morning in some bushes near the Rockville Metrorail station Kiss & Ride parking area. A Metrorail station manager alerted the police around 5:45 a.m. after a transit employee reported the body.

The Montgomery County Police Homicide/Sex Section is investigating.

The preliminary investigation indicates that this incident may be related to an earlier altercation near East Montgomery Avenue and Moore Street, during which shots were fired.

Anyone with information about this incident is asked to call the Montgomery County Police Homicide/Sex Section at 240-773-5070. Those who wish to remain anonymous should call Crime Solvers of Montgomery County at 1-866-411-TIPS (8477). Crime Solvers will pay a cash reward up to $1,000 for information that leads to an arrest and/or indictment in this crime.

During a portion of the police investigation, buses were not allowed to enter the bus bay area. Metrobus supervisors directed passengers to a drop off/pick-up point just outside the station. Metrorail service was not affected.
