Metrorail sets sixth highest weekday ridership record
Metrorail ridership yesterday, June 13, of 786,843 trips marks the sixth highest weekday ridership in the system’s 30-year history. The Washington National’s game contributed to the increased ridership.
This is the fourth day this month to see high weekday ridership. Ridership on June 6 was 758,927, June 7 was 764,511, and June 8 was 774,255. Each set a record as a top 25 weekday ridership day.
Typical weekday ridership sees about 700,000 customers taking trips on Metrorail. Combined with Metrobus ridership, Metro provided about 1.2 million trips yesterday. Typical weekday bus ridership has been about 446,000 trips.
