Metrorail records tenth highest weekday ridership day
Metrorail ridership reached 775,501 trips Wednesday, June 28, the tenth highest weekday ridership in the system’s 30-year history. Wednesday’s Faith Hill and Tim McGraw concert at the Verizon Center contributed to the high ridership.
This is the ninth high ridership this month. Ridership on June 13 was 786,843, June 15 was 777,287 and June 16 was 783,093. Each set a record as a top 10 weekday ridership day. Ridership on June 6 was 758,927, June 7 was 764,511, June 8 was 774,255, June 14 was 774,802 and June 21 was 769,641. Each set a top 30 weekday ridership record.
Typical weekday ridership sees about 700,000 customers taking trips on Metrorail and 460,000 taking trips on Metrobus. Combined, Metro provided about 1.2 million trips Wednesday.
