Man struck by train on Green Line

Metrorail customers on the Green Line are experiencing delays as a result of an adult male who was struck by a train at the Fort Totten Metrorail station at 8:31 a.m.

Eyewitnesses told officials that the man was on the tracks intentionally. Emergency medical personnel removed the man from the tracks at 9:07 a.m. and transported him to a local hospital in serious condition.

While the investigation continues, trains are sharing one track between the Fort Totten and Georgia Ave-Petworth stations on the Green Line. Customers can expect significant delays in that area. Shuttle buses are available to move customers between the West Hyattsville, Fort Totten and Georgia Ave-Petworth Metrorail stations.

The Fort Totten Metrorail station serves the Red and Green Lines. Customers may want to transferto theRed Line at Fort Totten to get downtown if they do not need to use the Green Line.
