Normal service resumes on Green Line after man struck by train
Green Line trains began moving normally through the Fort Totten Metrorail station at 10:40 a.m. today following a 8:31 a.m. incident in which a man was struck by a train headed in the direction of Greenbelt.
Eyewitnesses told officials that the man was on the tracks intentionally. Emergency medical personnel removed the man from the tracks at 9:07 a.m. and transported him to a local hospital in serious condition.
From the time of the incident until 10:40 a.m., trains shared one track between the Fort Totten and Georgia Ave-Petworth stations on the Green Line. Shuttle buses were available to move customers between the West Hyattsville, Fort Totten and Georgia Ave-Petworth Metrorail stations.
The Fort Totten Metrorail station serves the Red and Green Lines.
