One Friendship Heights Station entrance to close for remodeling

One of the five entrances at the Friendship Heights Metro station will close Monday for additional rehabilitation work. Remodeling of the southwest subway entrance that leads to the Mazza Gallerie shopping mall has been under way since late July. The entrance isn’t expected to open until September 1.

Mazza Gallerie has decided to improve the aesthetics of the southwest escalator entrance by replacing tiles, lighting, advertising space and the ceiling.

Passengers should watch for signs to detour them away from the construction and into the Metro station as easily and safely as possible.
