Metro plans public meeting on new 28X Leesburg Pike Express and service changes for several Virginia Metrobus routes

Metro will hold a public meeting on the proposal of a new 28X Leesburg Pike Express and service changes to Metrobus routes 1B-1Z, 3A and 3E.

The meeting will take place at 7 p.m. on Monday, Sept. 18, at the Langston Brown Community Center, 2121 Culpepper St. in Arlington.

The proposed 28X bus would run limited stop weekday service between the King Street Metrorail station and Tysons Corner Center via King Street and Leesburg Pike. Buses would run every 20 minutes during the morning and evening rush hours. The 28X would make 17 stops in each direction compared with 90 stops on the 28A and 28B local service.

Proposed changes to the Lee Highway Line included shortening the 3A route to run between Annandale and the East Falls Church Metrorail station seven days a week, and operate 3E service seven days a week.

For the Wilson Boulevard Line (1B-1Z), Metrobus would like to add a new 1A route to run between the Vienna and Ballston Metrorail stations, seven days a week. Additional changes proposed include changing the 1B to run only during rush hours, shortening the 1C to run between Fair Oaks Mall and the Dunn Loring-Merrifield Metrorail station, and changing the 1F to run only in the early morning and late evening.
