Metro Weekend Work to Impact Service

Track maintenance on the Blue, Yellow, and Red lines, and rail car testing on the Green Line will cause travel delays this weekend.

Blue and Yellow Line Track Maintenance

Starting Friday, September 22, at 10 p.m., and concluding Sunday, September 24, at midnight, Blue and Yellow line trains will share one track between Pentagon City and Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport due to switch replacement maintenance at the Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport Metrorail station. Passengers traveling along this portion of the Blue and Yellow lines should add 20 minutes of travel time.

Red Line Track Maintenance

On Friday, September 22, at 10 p.m. and concluding Saturday, September 23, at 10 a.m., Red Line trains will share one track between the Shady Grove and Grosvenor-Strathmore Metrorail stations due to switch replacement maintenance at the Twinbrook Metrorail station. Passengers traveling along this portion of the Red Line should add 15 minutes of travel time. [Please note that Red Line trains operate every 12 to 15 minutes between these locations late Friday and early Saturday morning.]

Green Line Rail Car Tests

On Saturday, September 23, and Sunday, September 24, from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m., Green Line trains will share one track between the Greenbelt and College Park Metrorail stations while Metro tests railcars. Passengers traveling along this portion of the Green Line should add up to 10 minutes of travel time for their trip. [Please note that Green Line trains operate every 12 to 15 minutes between these locations on Saturday and Sunday.]
