Metro hiring bus operators

Metro is holding an open testing day on Saturday, September 23 for people who want to be Metrobus operators. The testing begins at 7:30 a.m. at Mary Ellen Henderson Middle School, 7130 Leesburg Pike in Falls Church, VA. Parking at the school is limited, so Metro is offering a free shuttle bus from the West Falls Church Metrorail station (Orange Line) to the testing site.

Bus operators must go through a training period and are paid $10.22 per hour during the training. After graduation, bus operators are paid $14.95 per hour to start.

People interested must be 21 years of age with a high school diploma or GED, and at least four years of driving experience with no more than two points on their traffic record and no suspensions or revocations due to moving violations in the three years preceding the application.
