Metro Board and Riders Advisory Council to Host Town Hall Meeting Tomorrow Night

            Have a comment, suggestion or question about Metro" The transit agency’s Board of Directors will be all ears tomorrow night at a Town Hall Meeting in Southeast D.C.  
 
            Metro riders will have the opportunity to talk to members of the Metro Board as well as senior management on a variety of issues dealing with Metrorail, Metrobus and MetroAccess. 
 
            This meeting will include an open house, which is scheduled to begin at 6:30 p.m. The Town Hall Meeting will begin at 7 p.m., and conclude at 9 p.m. at St. Luke’s Center, located at 4923 East Capitol Street, SE, Washington, D.C., four blocks east of the       Benning Road Metrorail station on the Blue Line. Riders can also travel by the 96, 97, U5, U6, W4 and W54 Metrobus routes to get to the meeting.
 
            This is Metro’s fifth Town Hall Meeting in nearly two years. The first was in November 2004. The meetings have been held in D.C. and suburban Maryland and Virginia.
 
            The meeting will be moderated by Metro Board Chair Gladys Mack and Riders Advisory Council Chair Dennis Jaffe. The public is invited to sign up to speak at the meeting.
 
            Metro riders can view exhibits, pick up some additional information and talk to officials about a variety of topics, including new bus projects, safety and security, new rail cars and employment opportunities during the open house.
 
            Future town meetings will be held in Virginia and Maryland this year. Riders can also participate in online chats, comment during Board meetings held the third Thursday of every month, attend Riders Advisory Council meetings or email Board members. For more information, visit www.metroopensdoors.com.
