Metro Transit Police Department improves Web site

The Metro Transit Police Department (MTPD) recently enhanced its Web site to provide the public with access to a wide range of facts and figures related to safety and crime in the Metro system. The enhanced MTPD Web site also provides practical answers to questions about police reports, parking tickets and employment opportunities.

The site offers visitors helpful information on crime prevention, employment opportunities with the Transit Police, telephone numbers and email links to key personnel and specialized policing units, crime statistics, and answers to commonly asked questions

“The enhancements made to the police section of Metro’s Web site gives Metro riders and the general public easy access to information that can keep them safe while in the Metro system, make them more aware of things they can do to protect themselves, and answer some questions they may have regarding police-related matters,” said MTPD Chief Polly Hanson.

The section, titled “How do I…,” answers such questions as: How do I apply for employment" How do I file a police report" How do I pay for a citation" How do I inquire about a parking ticket" How do I inquire about an impounded auto"
