Metro Welcomes Public Input for the Upcoming Regional Bus Conference

The Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority (Metro) is hosting a regional bus conference on November 30 in Bethesda, Md., and officials are seeking suggestions and comments from the public on conference topics.

Metro invites the public to comment on:

• Traffic management to improve bus running time;

• Bus stop accessibility, information maintenance, design standards and vehicle accessibility to improve customer experience;

• Fare policies to better match fares with service and markets; and

• Regional bus and local bus service integration to enhance bus service quality.

The conference will be a working session of transit professionals from Metrobus and other regional bus companies. Due to space constraints, the conference will not be open to the public.

Metro has created a forum at http://bus.forums-wmata.com to receive comments. To post comments and suggestions, one must register, selecting a username and password with which to log in and supplying an email address to which Metro can send registration confirmation. The email address will be used for no other purpose than confirming registration, in keeping with our privacy policy. Those who only want to read postings do not have to register.

Metro requests users to post their replies under the appropriate topic from among the four listed above.
