Metro plans public meeting on proposed changes to Metrobus routes 30-36, 90-93 and 96

Metro will hold two public meetings on the proposal to restructure Metrobus routes 30-36 (Pennsylvania Avenue Line), 90-93 (U Street-Garfield Line) and 96 (East Capitol Street-Cardozo Line).

The meetings will take place at 7 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 26, at the Guy Mason Recreation Center, 3600 Calvert St., NW, Washington, DC, and Monday, Oct. 30, at the Francis A. Gregory Neighborhood Library, 3660 Alabama Ave. at 37th St., SE, Washington, DC.

The proposal for the 30s buses involves splitting the line into two shorter lines to improve service reliability. The 30, Wisconsin Avenue line, would run between the Friendship Heights and Federal Triangle Metrorail stations. The 32, 34, 35, 36 (Pennsylvania Avenue line) would run between the Southern Ave Metrorail station and Federal Triangle Metrorail station, and the Naylor Road Metrorail station and Federal Triangle Metrorail station. During peak hours, the 34 would run to Farragut Square to minimize transfers.

The proposal to restructure the 90, 92 and 93 routes include shortening the routes to run between the Anacostia Metrorail station and the Duke Ellington Bridge, and the Congress Heights Metrorail station and the Duke Ellington Bridge. Metro also proposes extending the 96 route to run from the Duke Ellington Bridge to McLean Gardens to replace the discontinued 90, 92 and 93 service in that area.
