Metro is hiring bus operators

Metro is holding an open testing day on Saturday, December 2 for people who want to be Metrobus operators. The testing begins at 7:30 a.m. at Metro Headquarters, 600 5th Street, NW, in Washington, DC. Parking is limited at the building. Attendees are encouraged to take Metro to Judiciary Square station on the Red Line or to Gallery Place-Chinatown station on the Yellow and Green Lines.

Bus operators must go through a training period and are paid $10.22 per hour during the training. After graduation, bus operators are paid $14.95 per hour to start.

People interested must be 21 years of age with a high school diploma or GED, and at least four years of driving experience with no more than two points on their traffic record and no suspensions or revocations due to moving violations in the three years preceding the application.

People interested in taking the test should pre-register by calling 301-618-7519 complete a Metro job application (available at www.metroopensdoors.com), and bring a copy of their current driving record and a valid driver’s license.
