Georgia Ave-Petworth Rail Station West Entrance to Close for Construction

The west entrance of the Georgia Ave-Petworth Metrorail station on the Green Line will close for two years starting Monday, December 11, as part of a residential and retail construction project. Metro customers will need to access the station using the east entrance located on the opposite side of Georgia Avenue.

Metrobus stops have been temporarily relocated along Quincy Street and New Hampshire Avenue. Bike racks and lockers will be relocated to the east entrance as well. The West entrance elevator will remain open.

Construction of 156 residential units and retail space in the area began last August. The construction is expected to last two years and the station entrance will reopen in 2008.
