Metrorail train strikes woman at Deanwood
Normal service resumed
Metro Transit Police are investigating how a woman wound up on the tracks and was struck by a train at the Deanwood Metrorail station this morning.
Train 908, a six-car Orange Line train headed downtown, struck the 40-year-old District of Columbia resident at 10:26 a.m. She was transported to Prince George’s Hospital Center. She did not appear to have life-threatening injuries.
Trains single-tracked from Cheverly to Minnesota Avenue Metrorail stations to get customers around the incident. The station was temporarily closed from about 10:56 to11:19 a.m. during the investigation.
Regular service resumed at 12:48 p.m.
