For immediate release: December 27, 2006

Holiday Transit Schedules for New Year’s Eve (Dec. 31, 2006), and New Year’s Day (Jan. 1, 2007)

On Sunday, December 31, 2006 (New Year’s Eve), Metrorail will operate on a Sunday schedule (7:00 a.m. to 2:00 a.m.). Metrobus will operate on a Sunday schedule and MetroAccess will operate on a weekday schedule (5:30 a.m. - 2:00 a.m.).

On Monday, January 1, 2007 (New Year’s Day), Metrorail will operate on a Sunday schedule (7:00 a.m. to midnight). Metrobus will operated on a Sunday schedule and MetroAccess will operate on a weekday schedule (5:30 a.m. - midnight). Parking at all transit authority-operated lots will be free, reduced fares will be in effect all day, and bicyclists will be allowed to transport their bicycles on Metrorail.
