Metrobus Service Changes in Virginia Begin December 31
Several service changes on Metrobus will be implemented on seven lines in Virginia beginning December 31. The changes are in response to customer requests and will improve service reliability and improve transfer connections between buses and trains.
2A Washington Boulevard Line
The weekday 2A eastbound bus that leaves Dunn Loring-Merrifield Metrorail station at 4:58 a.m. will leave at 4:53 a.m.
29K and 29 N Alexandria-Fairfax Line
The 29N eastbound buses that leave Fairfax Circle at 8:11 and 9:11 a.m., and between 5:12 and 9:12 p.m. on Saturdays will leave ten minutes later to improve coordination between 29N buses and DASH AT8 buses on Duke Street in Alexandria. The 29N and DASH AT8 buses between Landmark and King Street Metrorail stations will run every 30 minutes on Saturdays.
S91 TAGS Springfield Circulator/Springfield Mall Shuttle
The S91 bus that leaves Franconia-Springfield Metrorail station at 7:21 p.m. will now leave at 7:25 p.m. to Springfield Mall.
20W and 20X Chantilly-Greenbriar Line
The westbound 20X buses that leave the Vienna/Fairfax-GMU station at 4:20., 5 and 6 p.m. will be rerouted to Avion Business Park. In Avion Business Park, customers who get on eastbound 20W buses at 5:05, 5:53 and 6:53 p.m. will have to get on westbound 20X buses at 4:52, 5:41 and 6:37 p.m., and remain on the bus at it continues to the end of the line (Lafayette Center Drive and Enterprise Court) and returns as an eastbound 20W. The eastbound 20W buses will leave Lafayette Center Drive at 5:03, 5:52 and 6:48 p.m. and bypass Avion Business Park going to Vienna/Fairfax-GMU Metrorail station.
24T McLean Hamlet-East Falls Church Line
When road construction in the Tysons McLean Office park area concludes, buses will be rerouted to enter Farm Credit Drive northbound from Lewinsville Road, continue through the cul-de-sac and return to Lewinsville Road where the present route will be resumed going to Tysons-Westpark or East Falls Church Metrorail station.
29C, 29E, 29X Annandale Line and 29K and 29N Alexandria-Fairfax Line
A detour will be in effect on the NVCC-Annandale Campus for approximately two years due to the college’s building expansion project. From Little River Turnpike, westbound 29C-E-X and 29K-N buses will continue via Lake, East and Center drives to a temporary stop at Ernst Community Center (Building CE). Eastbound 29C-E-X buses will leave from that location and continue on Center Drive to Wakefield Chapel Road where the present routes will resume going to the Pentagon. Eastbound 29K and 29N bus routes will not change.
S80 TAGS Springfield Circulator/Springfield Mall Shuttle
A separate bus stop will be established at Franconia-Springfield’s Metrorail station bus bay C for the S80 TAGS buses going to Metro Park. TAGS buses to Springfield Mall and the Springfield Hilton will continue to serve the existing bus at bus bay D.
S91 TAGS Springfield Circulator/Springfield Mall Shuttle
An additional S91 bus will leave Franconia-Springfield station at 7:37 p.m. going to Springfield Mall.
10B Hunting Towers-Ballston Line
Directions will change to northbound and southbound routes (now shown as east-and westbound).
24T McLean Hamlet-East Falls Church
The time point at 1505 Nextel Building will be changed to 1501 Farm Credit Administration.
