Person struck by train at West Falls Church Metrorail station

Customers should expect service delays

Emergency personnel are responding to West Falls Church-VT/UVA Metrorail station where a person has reportedly been struck by a train today, Wednesday, August 12 at 11:18 a.m.

Preliminary reports indicate that a six-car Orange Line train headed in the direction of New Carrollton struck a person who was on the tracks as the train pulled into the station. This station has three tracks going through it, and trains are using the two non-incident tracks to provide service through the area, so delays to service are expected to be minor.
