Man struck by train identified

Incident impacted midday Orange Line service

Sangjin Lee, 45, of Arlington, Va., was fatally struck by an Orange Line train at the West Falls Church-VT/UVA Metrorail station at 11:18 a.m. today (August 12).

A six-car train headed in the direction of New Carrollton struck Lee, who was on the tracks intentionally as the train pulled into the station.

Orange Line trains shared one track through the station from 11:18 a.m. until 2 p.m. when trains resumed regular service.
