Metro closing sales office at Western Bus Garage

Customers encouraged to use alternate locations to purchase fare

Metro is closing the sales office at Western Bus Garage in the District of Columbia on Sunday, August 23, due to low usage and the proximity of other nearby retail outlets. Customers are encouraged to use any of the following nearby sales locations to purchase fare products starting Monday, August 24:

TRiPS Commuter Store, 17 Wisconsin Circle, Chevy Chase, Md.
Giant Food, 3336 Wisconsin Avenue, NW
Safeway, 4203 Davenport Street, NW

Earlier this summer, Metro announced that it was closing four sales locations at Metrobus divisions, including the one at Western Bus Garage. The others include Landover Bus Garage in Hyattsville, Md., Four Mile Run Bus Garage in Arlington, Va., and Royal Street Bus Garage in Alexandria, Va.

Customers are encouraged to use nearby sales locations to purchase fare media. In addition, customers can purchase and add value to SmarTrip® cards at a number of CVS/pharmacy stores throughout the Washington region.
