Emergency crews responding to report of employee struck by Metrorail train


Customers should expect major delays on Blue, Yellow Lines

Emergency personnel are responding to an area along the Blue and Yellow Line Metrorail tracks in Virginia where there is a preliminary report of a Metro employee being struck by a train.

At 10:40 a.m. officials received a preliminary report of a Metro employee struck by a train between the Braddock Road and Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport Metrorail stations. He was taken to a local hospital.

Customers can expect major delays in both directions due to the incident. Trains are holding at this time while emergency crews are on the tracks.

Shuttle buses have been requested and will serve customers between Braddock Road and the Airport stations but are not likely to arrive until close to 11:30 a.m.
