Customers should expect major delays on Blue, Yellow lines

Metro employee believed to have been struck by train Thursday morning

Metrorail customers on the Blue and Yellow Lines can expect major delays throughout the afternoon due to a preliminary report of a Metro employee who was struck by a train at 10:40 a.m. between the Braddock Road and Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport Metrorail stations. The man was taken to a local hospital with unknown injuries.

The Blue Line is currently split into two segments. Blue Line trains will operate between the Franconia-Springfield and Braddock Road Metrorail stations and between the Largo and Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport stations.

The Yellow Line is also split into two segments. Yellow Line trains will operate between the Huntington and Braddock Road Metrorail stations and between the Fort Totten and Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport Metrorail stations.

Free shuttle buses will be carrying passengers between the King Street, Braddock Road and the Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport Metrorail stations to get customers around the area of the incident. There are currently 15 shuttle buses in service.
