Blue, Yellow line service resumes after employee hit by train


Investigation ongoing

Regular service returned to the Blue and Yellow lines at 12:43 p.m., two hours after a Metrorail employee was believed to have been struck by a six-car train headed outbound at 10:40 a.m. The accident took place between the Braddock Road and Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport Metrorail stations.

The employee was taken to a local hospital. It is believed that he sustained serious injuries.

Metro officials notified the National Transportation Safety Board of the incident, which is currently under investigation by Metro officials.
