Metro supports "International Car Free Day"

Residents urged to try Metro or alternative ways to travel

Metro is supporting “Car Free Day” and is encouraging area residents to give up their cars for a day and try Metrorail and Metrobus on Tuesday, September 22.

“Car Free Day is the perfect opportunity to try public transportation and we hope that once people try Metrobus and Metrorail, they’ll stick with us for their everyday commute,” said Metro General Manager John Catoe.

Car Free Day is an international event held each year to reduce pollution and promote alternative modes of transportation including public transportation, bicycling and walking.
