Metrobus and MetroAccess services rerouted for Bike DC

Street closures to impact 34 bus routes in Arlington and District Roads

There will be several street closures affecting Metrobus and MetroAccess service in Arlington and the District of Columbia for Bike DC on Saturday, October 17. The affected streets will be closed from 7:30 a.m. until noon, except Crystal Drive between 20th and 23rd Streets, which will reopen at 2 p.m.

Patrons using Metrobus and MetroAccess service this Saturday morning (October 17) are likely to experience detours due to the bicycle routes. Metro encourages Metrobus and MetroAccess riders to build extra time into their Saturday trips and if necessary, reschedule their trips to mid-afternoon or use the Metrorail system.

The event is causing 34 Metrobus routes in Virginia and the District of Columbia to be rerouted.

The following Metrobus routes will be impacted: 5A, 7A, 7F, 13A, 13B, 13F, 13G, 16B, 16G, 16J, 16K, 23A, 32, 34, 36, 38B, 52, 54, 64, 70, 80, 90, 92, 96, A42, A46, A48, D6, L2, N6, P6, S2, S4 and V8.

Customers are reminded that bicycles are permitted on Metrorail all day on weekends but limited to four bicycles per train car.

This year’s Bike DC will feature a total of 37 miles of car-free biking through parts of the District and Virginia, including a stretch on the George Washington Parkway.
