Metro's November weeknight track maintenance schedule set


Customers should add 20 to 30 minutes to weeknight travel times

During November, Metro will replace fasteners, make tunnel repairs and make repairs to concrete slabs underneath the rails. Customers should add at least 20 to 30 minutes of additional travel time to their schedules from Sunday to Thursday nights from 9:30 p.m. to closing (midnight) on the Red, Blue, Orange and Yellow lines. Metro will not conduct weeknight track maintenance on Thanksgiving Day, Thursday, Nov. 26.

Red Line Track Maintenance Sunday through Thursday nights

Metrorail customers traveling between the Medical Center and Grosvenor-Strathmore Metrorail stations should add at least 20 minutes to their travel time to allow Metro to replace rail fasteners that stabilize tracks, and make tunnel and aerial structure repairs. Trains will share one track between these locations from 9:30 p.m., through closing (midnight) from Sunday, Nov. 1, through Thursday, Nov. 5; Sunday, Nov. 8, through Thursday, Nov. 12; Sunday, Nov. 15 through Thursday, Nov. 19; and Sunday, Nov. 22, through Wednesday, Nov. 25, and Monday, Nov. 30.

Blue Line Track Maintenance Sunday through Thursday nights

Metrorail customers traveling between the Stadium-Armory and Addison Road-Seat Pleasant Metrorail stations should add at least 30 minutes to their travel time to allow Metro to replace concrete slabs underneath the rails. Trains will share one track between these locations from 9:30 p.m., through closing (midnight) from Sunday, Nov. 1, through Thursday, Nov. 5; Sunday, Nov. 8, through Thursday, Nov. 12; Sunday, Nov. 15 through Thursday, Nov. 19; and Sunday, Nov. 22, through Wednesday, Nov. 25 and Monday, Nov. 30.

Yellow Line Track Maintenance Sunday through Thursday nights

Metrorail customers traveling between the Huntington and Braddock Road Metrorail stations should add at least 30 minutes to their travel time to allow Metro to replace rail fasteners that stabilize tracks. Trains will share one track between these locations from 9:30 p.m., through closing (midnight) from Sunday, Nov. 1, through Thursday, Nov. 5; Sunday, Nov. 8, through Thursday, Nov. 12; Sunday, Nov. 15 through Thursday, Nov. 19; and Sunday, Nov. 22, through Wednesday, Nov. 25 and Monday, Nov. 30.

Orange Line Track Maintenance Sunday through Wednesday nights and Monday, Nov. 30

Metrorail customers traveling between the Cheverly and New Carrollton Metrorail stations should add at least 20 minutes to their travel time to allow Metro to replace rail fasteners that stabilize tracks. Trains will share one track between these locations from 9:30 p.m., through closing (midnight) from Sunday, Nov. 22, through Wednesday, Nov. 25 and Monday, Nov. 30.
