Person struck by train at Gallery Place/Chinatown Metrorail station


Red Line service significantly impacted through rush hour

Metro officials are responding to a report of an individual who was struck by a Red Line train at the Gallery Place-Chinatown Metrorail station at about 3:35 p.m. today (Nov. 30). The train was headed in the direction of Shady Grove.

Customers should expect major delays of an hour or more on the Red Line throughout the remainder of the afternoon rush period. If customers have the opportunity to avoid the Red Line, they are encouraged to do so.

Red Line trains are currently taking turns sharing one track (single-tracking) between Farragut North and Judiciary Square Metrorail station.
