Bus stops to be relocated for construction at Prince George's Plaza Metrorail station

Kiss & Ride and parking garage access to be restricted

Beginning Monday, Dec. 28, bus stops on the north side of the Prince George’s Plaza Metrorail station bus bay area will be relocated temporarily for four weeks due to construction of a new roundabout that will improve traffic flow from the East-West Highway entrance.

During the construction, bus stops, Kiss & Ride, and parking access will be affected as follows:

• Bus stops on the northern bus bay area will be relocated to the south Kiss & Ride area and the south bus bay area.
• All buses will be routed to enter from Belcrest Road and exit via East-West Highway.
• Kiss & Ride, car sharing, short-term parking and taxi access will be restricted to the area along Belcrest Center Drive on the north side of the station.
• Access to the parking garage from East-West Highway will be closed for the duration of the construction.

Construction of the new roundabout is scheduled to be completed in the spring of 2010. For a map that shows station access restrictions, visit http://www.wmata.com/rail/docs/PG_Plaza_1_12082009.pdf.

Directional signs and display maps will be posted throughout the station to help riders locate the bus stops for Metrobus and Prince George’s county regional bus service, The Bus. For a map that shows where bus stops are relocating, visit http://www.wmata.com/rail/docs/PG_Plaza_2_12082009.pdf.
