Pentagon City and Crystal City Metrorail stations reopen


Suspicious item reported at Pentagon City Metrorail station

The Pentagon City and Crystal City Metrorail stations reopened at 11 a.m. after a suspicious item reported at the Pentagon City Metrorail station was found to be safe by the Metro Transit Police.

The Pentagon City and Crystal City Metrorail stations were closed for about an hour this morning after a customer reported a suspicious item around 9:50 a.m.

Metrobus shuttles were running between the Braddock Road and Pentagon Metrorail stations to help riders travel around the incident while the Metro Transit Police investigated. Throughout the incident, the Blue and Yellow lines were running in two segments. On the Yellow Line, trains were running between the Huntington and Braddock Road Metrorail stations, and between the Pentagon and Fort Totten Metrorail stations. Blue Line trains were operating between the Franconia-Springfield and Braddock Road Metrorail stations, and between the Pentagon and Largo Town Center Metrorail stations.

The Metro Transit Police and Arlington County Fire Department responded to the scene. They investigated the suspicious item and determined that it was not harmful.
