Red Line through Gallery Place, Judiciary Square stations temporarily closed


Man struck by Red Line train at Gallery Place

The Red Line through Gallery Place-Chinatown and Judiciary Square Metrorail stations are temporarily closed while Metro Transit Police and emergency medical personnel are investigating and responding to a report of a man who was struck by a Red Line train that was headed in the direction of Shady Grove at 7:28 a.m. today (Sunday, December 27).

Red Line riders can expect major delays on the Red Line, which is currently running in two segments—from Union Station to Glenmont Metrorail station and from Metro Center to Shady Grove Metrorail station. Free shuttle buses are taking customers around the incident with buses moving between Union Station, Judiciary Square, Gallery Place, Metro Center and Farragut North Metrorail stations.

The man has been transported to a local hospital.
