Pentagon Transit Center buses temporarily relocated


Metrobuses servicing lower level bus bays, other bus providers at Pentagon City

Metrobuses that usually service the upper level of the Pentagon Transit Center have been relocated to the lower level bus bays and all other bus providers have been temporarily relocated to Pentagon City while the Federal Bureau of Investigation continues its investigation into a shooting that took place Thursday evening, March 4, adjacent to the Pentagon Transit Center.

The upper level of the Pentagon Transit Center is expected to remain closed until Sunday, March 7.

Metrobus routes that service the Pentagon Metrorail station have been assigned to the following bus bays on the lower level of the Pentagon Transit Center:

Metro will provide shuttle bus service between the Pentagon and Pentagon City Metrorail stations until about 7 p.m. tonight, March 5, to help any customers who may be confused about the location of their bus. The shuttle will operate a circular path along South Eads Street, South 15th Street to South Hayes Street, and return via Army Navy Drive and Fern Street.

In addition, extra Metrobus supervisors, station managers and personnel will be on hand to help direct customers at the Pentagon Transit Center and Pentagon City.

Regional and other bus service operators are providing bus service from the alternate locations listed below. Riders who use the following bus services should check with their specific bus provider for more details.

ART routes 42 and 87 will serve the ART 74 stop on 12th Street and Hayes Street.

DASH routes AT3 and AT4 will serve a temporary stop directly in front of Nordstrom on Hayes Street, approximately one half block from the exit to Pentagon City Metrorail station.

Fairfax Connector: The 595 (North County) and the 380D (South County) will serve a stop on Hayes Street across from Macy’s.

Loudoun County Commuter Bus Service will pick up Pentagon passengers at the northeast corner of Army Navy Drive and Fern Street. The buses will travel west on Army Navy Drive, pick up before Fern Street and then take Route 27 to Rosslyn.

Martz Virginia commuter buses servicing the Pentagon will utilize the Army Navy Drive and Fern Street stop.

Priority 1 will serve the kiss and ride location in the Pentagon South Parking Lot.

PRTC buses will serve a stop at 11th Street and Eads Street.

Quick’s Bus Company will serve the kiss and ride location in the Pentagon South Parking Lot.
