Cracked rail near Naylor Road Metrorail station on Green Line repaired
Green Line trains resuming normal service
Metro officials have temporarily repaired a cracked rail on the Green Line between the Naylor Road and Southern Avenue Metrorail stations.
The cracked rail was discovered on the inbound track at 7:28 a.m. Trains took turns sharing one track (single-tracking) between Naylor Road and Southern Avenue Metrorail stations until 8:33 a.m., when crews finished making temporary repairs.
For the remainder of the day, Green Line trains will operate at 15 mph in the area where the temporary repair was made. Permanent repairs will be made this evening when the rail system is closed.
