Failed piece of track equipment near West Hyattsville Metrorail station slows Green Line service

Customers can anticipate delays of up to 30 minutes throughout the morning rush hour

Customers on the Green Line can expect major delays this morning as a result of a piece of track equipment that developed a mechanical problem at 4:30 a.m. near the West Hyattsville Metrorail station.

Trains will be single-tracking (sharing one track) between the Fort Totten and Prince George’s Plaza Metrorail stations until the piece of equipment can be moved off the Green Line.

Customers can expect delays of 30 minutes or more. Delays are expected to last throughout the morning rush hour and into the early afternoon.
