Metro Transit Police investigate sexual assault near Greenbelt Metrorail station


Call Metro Transit Police if you have information about the incident or suspect

The Metro Transit Police Department (MTPD) is investigating a sexual assault that took place at approximately 6:30 p.m. Friday, May 28, on a foot path near the Greenbelt Metrorail station.

A teenage female reported that she was leaving the Greenbelt Metrorail station when a man attempted to engage her in conversation. He followed the 15-year-old as she walked from the station toward the foot path leading into a neighborhood, sexually assaulted her and fled.

Police are looking for a Hispanic male in his 30s with dark curly hair, dark reddish complexion with a tattoo of a snake on his left arm. He is described as heavy set, and was last seen wearing a blue shirt and blue jeans.

MTPD is seeking assistance from the public and encourages anyone who witnessed or has information related to the incident to please call the Metro Transit Police at 202-962-2121.
