Metrobuses to detour on 18 routes this weekend


Regional events force Metrobuses to temporarily re-route today through Sunday

Metrobus customers will experience detours on 18 routes today (June 4) through Sunday (June 6) in the District of Columbia and Maryland due to the Susan G. Komen Global Race for the Cure, the Brentwood Day Parade and the 3rd Annual Washington Post Hunt.

Routes 5A, 13, 32, 34, 36, 52, 54, 64, 70, 80, A42, A46, A48, P6, S2, S4 and V8 will detour at various times and locations in the District of Columbia today and Saturday due to the Susan G. Komen Global Race for the Cure:
• 4th Street will be closed from 10 a.m. today to 6 p.m. on Saturday.
• 3rd and 7th streets will be closed from 4 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday
• 14th Street will be closed from 7:30 to 10:30 a.m. on Saturday.
• Constitution Avenue will be closed from 6:30 to 10:30 a.m. on Saturday.
• Independence Avenue will be closed from 4 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday.

Route 86 will detour from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. Saturday at 38th Street, between Taylor Street and Windom Road, in Brentwood, Md., due to the Brentwood Day Parade.

Routes 32 and 36 will detour from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Sunday at Pennsylvania Avenue, N.W., between 13th and 14th Streets, in the District of Columbia, due to the 3rd Annual Washington Post Hunt.

Metrobus service operations managers will monitor the events and adjust schedules as necessary.

Metrobus customers can use the Next Bus information service to find out when buses will arrive at a given stop, by logging onto Metro’s Web site or calling 202-637-7000 and saying, “Next Bus.”
