Dulles Metrorail Project weekend construction work completed successfully
Orange Line service restored between West Falls Church and East Falls Church
This weekend’s Dulles Corridor Metrorail Project work on the Orange Line between the West Falls Church-VT/UVA and East Falls Church Metrorail stations was completed successfully and service between the two stations resumed at 5 a.m. today, Monday, June 7.
The free shuttle buses were busy throughout the weekend with buses filling up as trains emptied at the West Falls Church-VT/UVA and East Falls Church Metrorail stations. Throughout the weekend, 26,517 people used the shuttle buses to help complete their trips.
Metro administrative employees and with Metro Transit Police officers had been on site guiding customers from the rail platforms to the shuttle buses to assist them in completing their trips.
The Dulles Corridor Metrorail project will continue this upcoming weekend again with no train service between the East Falls Church and West Falls Church-VT/UVA Metrorail stations on Saturday, June 12, and Sunday, June 13. Metro will operate free shuttle bus service between the two stations. The West Falls Church-VT/UVA and East Falls Church Metrorail stations will remain open.
