Metrobuses to detour on 15 routes this weekend


Regional events force Metrobuses to temporarily re-route Saturday, Sunday

Metrobus customers will experience detours on 15 routes Saturday (June 12) and Sunday (June 13) in the District of Columbia and Arlington,Va., due to the several events.

District of Columbia:
Route U8 will detour from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. Saturday at Nannie Helen Burroughs Avenue NE, between Hayes Street and Division Avenue, due to the Peace in the Streets Parade and Festival.

Route 62 will detour from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday at Kansas Avenue NW, between 8th and Buchanan streets, due to a community health fair.

Routes 42, 52, 54, D2, D6, G2 and L2 will detour from 6:30 to 9 p.m. Saturday at N Street NW due to the Capital Pride Parade.

Route P6 will detour from 9 p.m. Saturday to 11 p.m. Sunday at Pennsylvania Avenue NW, between 3rd and 6th streets, due to the Capital Pride Parade.

Arlington, Va.:
Route 38B will detour from 5 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday at Wilson Boulevard, between Washington Boulevard and Fillmore Street, due to the U.S. Air Force Cycling Classic – Clarendon Cup.

Routes 16B, 16E, 16P and 23A will detour from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday at Crystal Drive, between 12th and 23rd streets; Air Force Memorial Drive; Washington Boulevard; Boundary Channel Drive; Old Jefferson Davis Highway; and Columbia Pike, between S. Oak Street and the Pentagon parking lot, due to the U.S. Air Force Cycling Classic – Crystal Ride.

Metrobus service operations managers will monitor the events and adjust schedules as necessary.

Metrobus customers can use the Next Bus information service to find out when buses will arrive at a given stop, by logging onto Metro’s Web site or calling 202-637-7000 and saying, “Next Bus.”
