Metrobuses to detour on 21 routes this weekend


Regional events force Metrobuses to temporarily re-route

Metrobus customers will experience detours on 21 routes from Friday, June 18, to Sunday, June 20, in the District of Columbia and Arlington, Va. due to events and construction.

District of Columbia:
Route 5A will detour from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Friday at the exit roadway between SW Freeway and the 12th Street Tunnel due to construction.

Route P6 will detour from 8 p.m. Saturday, June 19, to 5 p.m. Sunday at Pennsylvania Avenue NW between Third and Seventh streets due to preparations for the D.C. Triathlon.

Routes 32, 34, 36, 52, 54, 64, 70, P6, S2, S4 and V8 will detour from 3 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at Pennsylvania Avenue NW between 13th and 14th streets due to the Purple Stride D.C. 2010 5k Walk.

Routes 5A, 13, 32, 34, 36, 52, 54, 63, 64, 70, 80, 96, A42, A46, A48, P6, S2,
S4 and V8 will detour around the following street closures from 5 to 11 a.m. Sunday due to the D.C. Triathlon:

- Memorial Bridge
- Constitution Avenue NW between Virginia & Pennsylvania Avenues
- Virginia Avenue NW between Constitution Avenue & 20th Street
- Third, Seventh and 14th streets NW between Constitution and Independence avenues

Arlington:
Route 10A will detour from 7 to 11 a.m. Sunday at S. Joyce Street between 15th Street S. and Army Navy Drive due to the Third Annual Run for the Rain Forest 5k

Metrobus service operations managers will monitor the events and adjust schedules as necessary.

Metrobus customers can use the Next Bus information service to find out when buses will arrive at a given stop, by logging onto Metro’s Web site or calling 202-637-7000 and saying, “Next Bus.”
