Metro to adjust schedules on 11 Metrobus routes in Maryland, Virginia

Times modified at specific route segments to better serve customers

On Sunday, June 27, Metro will make a few adjustments to times and stops on Metrobus routes in Maryland and Virginia as a result of the agency’s quarterly assessment of Metrobus service. There will also be an adjustment to the Springfield Circulator (TAGS) fare.

The time adjustments are being made to mirror actual service times along the affected routes. Times at different segments of routes will change; however, the overall route time will not change.

In Maryland, time adjustments will be made to parts of routes P17, P19, Q1, Q2, Q5, Q6 and W13. Also, Route P12 will now start at 6:05 a.m. on weekdays at the Southern Avenue Metrorail station, instead of the Suitland Metrorail station. Stop times between Suitland Metrorail station and Addison Road Metrorail station will not change.

In Virginia, time adjustments will be made to parts of routes 28A and 28X. Also, stops will be add to Route 28X westbound at Leesburg Pike and Haycock Road and eastbound at West Broad and Birch streets. Route 16Y will now serve stops at S. Courthouse Road and Sixth Street. The fare for the riding the TAGS between Franconia-Springfield Metrorail station, Springfield Mall and the Hilton Springfield hotel (routes S80 and S91) will increase to 50 cents.

Metrobus customers should routinely check schedules to stay aware of time adjustments. Also, customers can use the Next Bus information service to find out when buses will arrive at a given stop, by logging onto Metro’s Web site or calling 202-637-7000 and saying, “Next Bus.”
